Gullah/Geechee in Nassau County

These maps depict the study areas for the Gullah/Geechee Burial Ground Recording Project, a collaborative effort between the Gullah/Geechee Nation and the Florida Public Archaeology Network. The first map shows the homelands of the Gullah/Geechee as well as the general study area of Nassau County, FL. The second map illustrates the location of historic communities as well as the sites included in the recording project.
